Technique Week: Day 1 (Using Adhesive Springs)

This week I decided to show different techniques or embellishments on my layouts.  Today's technique is to try CTMH's New Adhesive Springs (Z1725) to put a little pop in your page.  They even fit nicely under the page protector and still are relatively raised.  If you are really feeling wild, you can cut a window out of your page protector so your springy image or effect will pop through.  I would love to see what you create with these springs.

Here's another Pemberley Layout

I made this layout for a gathering I have in a week.  I used a ton of layering, but I love it.  I also went out of my comfort zone and inked in outdoor denim.  For those of you who know me well, you know I prefer to ink/distress my edges in either cocoa, chocolate or black ink.  All of the shapes for the layout were made using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.  Check out the special tab above to see how you could get the cartridge for FREE this month only.  I was inspired by another consultant's flower, so I went to work trying to make my own to compliment the layout.  To make this flower: flower on pg 50 of cricut art philosophy cartridge cut at 2 3/4 inches, then inked with Diverse backgrounds (D1508) in outdoor denim, flower on pg 29 cut at 2 inches, 2 flowers on pg 48 cut at 1 1/2 inches and again at 3/4 inches.

Pemberley Layout inspired by the CTMH Idea Book Cover

So I attempted to make reproduce the layout on the front cover of the CTMH spring/summer idea book.  Here is the original layout made with Stella paper.

Super Hero Week: Final layout (Halloween)

Here is my final layout using the Super Hero Paper Pack.  I think it is my favorite.  I got a chance to use the new My Reflections Complements Super Hero Rub On Sheets (X7152C).  I love them.  I used them on this layout for the title and reply.  I felt a little out of the box not using orange paper for a trick or treat layout, but since their costumes were super heros, I went for it.  Take a look at the embellishment of words, that was a zip strip cut apart.  The inspiration for this layout came from fellow consultant Cheryl Cuddie.

Super Hero Week: Layout 4 (love, love, love you)

This final super hero layout was inspired by a layout I saw on pinterest.  This one was very simple, but adorable.  I used the cricut art philosophy cartridge to make all the stars that highlight this page.  Some of the stars are popped with foam tape for added dimension.  So if you were a skeptic like me wondering how many layouts, you could really get from a super hero paper pack, now you know.  And I am not even done yet.

Super Hero Week: Layout 3 (My little Dirtball)

I love this layout.  My favorite part about it is the title.  I used the cricut art philosophy cartridge for "dirtball."  There is no shadow for the font, so I usually just cut the letters twice at the same height and then offset them a little.  This time I decided to cut the darker set 1/4 inch larger.  Then when I offset it, it really looks like a shadow.  Supplies for this layout are: Super Hero Paper Pack, Outdoor Denim cardstock, milepost shapes, large brads, baker's twine, and cricut art philosophy cartridge.

Super Hero Week: Layout 2

Here is another layout using the super hero paper pack. This layout describes Graycen (8 months old) in this photo and how he is all boy. Because he has older brothers he never played with baby toys.  Once again to recreate this look, I simply used the superhero paper pack, outdoor denim cardstock, corner rounder to make the scalloped edge, and the cricut art philosophy cartridge.
