Studio J Update and the New Express Collections

What is Studio J, you might ask?  It is CTMH's  exclusive digital scrapbooking software.  This is a great first introduction to Close To My Heart for newbies to scrapbooking because it requires no purchase or tools other than an Internet-connected computer. Studio layouts can be created quickly for the time-challenged and have many flexible options for artists who want a custom look. Plus, Studio J makes it easy and affordable to print multiple copies of the same layout, perfect for giving to friends and family.
At Convention in July, CTMH made some great announcements regarding Studio J.  There are no more membership fees.  In the past, you needed a membership to benefit from exclusive member templates as well as the 50% off discount on your ordered pages.  But all that is history.  Now all Studio J users get 2 page layouts for just $6.95 per layout plus shipping and handling.  Here's the best part, shipping is a flat fee of $5.95 for 4 to 50 layouts, so create, then order large.  But that's just the beginning, Studio J allows you to complete layouts quickly and beautifully, but now its even simpler.  They have added Express Collections within Studio J.  Each themed Express Collection includes 10 two-page coordinating, fully embellished layouts, plus a front and back page for your album, that are professionally designed and nearly complete—you simply drag in your photos and add your title and journaling! You can choose to create all 10 layouts plus the covers, or create just a few of the layouts in the collection. It’s up to you. Express Collections makes getting your photos off your camera card or computer and into gorgeous layouts faster than ever!
To celebrate these great changes, I am featuring a layout from the expression collections each day, so let's get started.  Make sure to click on the image to get a closer look.
If you are interested in learning more about Studio J, it is always available on my website to try for Free.  Simply visit www.ctmh.com/nickiehoffer, click on products and then Studio J online scrapbooking.  You can upload your pictures and start creating with no obligation to buy.  Whether you purchase your layouts or not, they will be stored for 3 months before deletion.  Don't forget to enter my contest to win a $25 shopping spree in August, September, and October.  Click here for more details.

Avonlea jewelry

I have seen so many pieces of jewelry constructed from paper and created by such talented CTMH colleagues, but I just could never bring myself to tackle it. Well I decided to include a jewelry piece as part of the make n take for my open house event. I made this black retro bracelet by cutting 3/4 inch circles with the cricut art philosophy cartridge from the New Avonlea paper. I purchased the bracelet and pendant supplies from a great stand at the CK Convention.  You can see more at their website www.craftfantastic.com.  I think they turned out lovely and the best part is it took about 1-5 minutes to complete.  Everyone at my open house got to make their very own pendant.  Would love your comments!

Beautiful home decor with the New Clementine paper pack

I want to apologize for my absence over the last few weeks, I was at the CTMH convention in Dallas and then busily getting ready for my Open House.  But I have a lot to share with you so stay tuned.  This is a piece featured on page 48 of the new Fall Winter Idea Book which became available 8/1 and I just couldn't wait to try it. The piece is created using hearts cut from the cricut art philosophy cartridge. I cut them at a range of sizes from 3/4 inch to 1 1/2 inch.  Then you simply fold them in half and arrange them in a flower. I used the clear sparkles, leaves from the new Floret Paper Shapes (Z1764) and the new stamp set Love Blooms (C1511) for the sentiments. I hope you enjoy. Thanks for looking!

Check out my loot!

I don't know how many of you got to go to the Creating Keepsakes Convention this year. I was super excited about it because it is usually held in King of Prussia. This time it was held in my neck of the woods, Lancaster, Pa.  Well I haven't been in several years, but it was a blast. Below is a picture of all my goodies, but you may notice a few things you might not have expected to see at a papercrafting convention.  Some of the goodies include washi tape from www.lovemytapes.com, brads featuring bowling pins, robots, and little Mickey ears from the Eyelet outlet, and scrapbooking embellishments from www.adornit.com.  The purse and the clothing are from Adornit as well.  I think I am in love.  Special thanks to my bestie Tammy, who bought me the purse for my birthday.
