Simple Black and White Thank You Card

I had every intent on giving credit where credit is do.  This card was inspired by another black and white masked card created by a fellow consultant and now I can't find the post to give her credit.  But I made this card to thank some of my CTMH team members for achieving high sales in the month of May.  Supplies needed for this card are Card Chatter Sympathy stamp set (D1476) for the sentiment, Simple Memories Stamp Set (D1472).  I simply put a scrap of paper above and below the image to mask it off when stamping.  I think it turned out lovely and it was so quick and simple.

My First Flip or Swing Card using Stella

I am super excited about this.  I just recently stumbled upon the tutorial from splitcoaststampers.  You can find it here.  I made this card for a CTMH gathering I am having at the end of the month.  For those of you who follow the tutorial to make your own, I adjusted things a bit to make my stamped image fit on the swing portion of the card.
Here are my modifications:
In step one, they scored from 0-1.25 and 4.25-5.5, I scored from 0-.75 and 4.75-5.5
In step two, I cut 1 inch out from the score lines.
In step three, I lined up my 1 inch cuts and cut from .75-4.25.
Please look at the original tutorial and make these adjustments or none of this will make any sense.
Supplies used: Stella Paper Pack, Stella workshop on the go stamp set, Fashionista (D1504), Cocoa Cardstock, Colonial White Cardstock

I got the idea for paper piecing the woman together from this amazing piece of artwork created my fellow consultant Tamra.  Check out her artwork here.

A Mother's Love is Poison Ivy

OK so I just have to say wouldn't we just do anything for our kids.  If you don't have kids, then your family.  So this weekend we went hiking with our three boys and I am severely allergic to poison ivy.  Of course the trails were lined with it about 2 feet high, which is fine for the older boys.  You just tell them not to touch it, but what about my 2 year old.  He stumbles along the narrow path picking up every rock along the way and his little figure is the perfect height for all that poison.  So needless to say throughout the hike, he needed to rest and mommy would offer him a piggy back ride.  I figured even if he is exposing me to poison, I'll just go home and shower.  Apparently if exposed it works best to shower immediately.  By the time we got home, it was too late.  Where his cute little arms were wrapped around my neck during the ride on my back, I now have poison.  But the funny thing is knowing that I will get poison on our next hike, I will still give my sweet boy a piggy back ride.  Can anyone relate?  I did learn one thing from this whole experience I will not be asking my hubby to help me apply the calamine lotion ever again.  I think the picture explains it all.

Simple Teacher's Gift

I bought this food grade tins at Papermart.com.  I made the card on the cricut art philosophy cartridge using the retired Mischief paper.  I cut the card base at 3.75 and the patterned paper at 3.5.  I plan on putting a target gift card inside.  You could also put the teacher's favorite candy.  I used our shredder and scrap paper to make the stuffing for inside the container.

June Stamp of the Month: Life is Tweet

This stamp of the month is so dear.  There are clever puns using tweet instead of sweet.  For those of you who enjoy sending birthday cards, this would be a perfectly unique stamp set to add to your collection.  The best part is that with a $50 order, you can get it for just $5.  It will be available until June 30th.  To get yours now, check out my website here.  Below is some artwork designed by CTMH Corp Design Team and then I have included another card made by my upline and friend Krista Hershberger.
