Technique Week: Day 4 (Creating your own background paper)

There are actually 2 techniques, I used for these layouts.  The first is to use a background stamp or any image for that matter to make your own background paper.  I used sky cardstock, the New Diverse Backgrounds Stamp Set (D1508), and Pacifica Ink.  I used the spashed paint image to stamp on the background of the sky cardstock.  Sometimes when you use a background stamp you have to pay attention to the orientation of the stamp and where you start and stop so it looks uniform.  But with this image there are no rules.  I rotated the stamp and I definitely didn't pay attention where I started and stopped.  The hay paper is not CTMH, but it is perfect for farm show pictures.  The photos below are 2 individual one page layouts using the technique.  I used the magic book (9034) for the layout idea (only available through 7/31).  I used the layout on page 57 titled Hocus Pocus.  The second technique is to use your How To Books in a different way.  I used the 2 page layout to make 2 single page layouts.  I also modified it slightly to fit the sizes of my photos.  You do not have to be boxed in by the photos sizes on the layouts. This makes any layout sketch very useful.

  1. That particular stamp would be perfect for a speckled Easter egg look. Cute scrapbook page.
